Stress and Gaming

As a video game blogger who also happens to have an entirely separate full time job, it can sometimes be hard to find some solid gaming time, especially when it's a game I've already ryviewed. So how do I manage to squeeze it all in?

The short answer is I don't...

You may have noticed (you=both of you who regularly check my blog) that I only released 3 of my usual 5 articles last week. I try to keep a good schedule, but when I'm busy with my full time (paying) job, it can be pretty tough to squeeze in topical articles, particularly when I'm at a hotel with a craptacular internet connection and little to know time to spend screaming at how slow said internet connection is.

So, when that kind of thing happens, the blog will suffer. And, the sad fact is that until this blog is actually sustaining me financially (read: never) that will have to be the case. So, the best I can do is give you all that I can, when I can, and hope that I don't lose any readership (thanks you two) in the meantime.

At any rate, I've been struck by this problem lately because I'm spending quite a lot of time playing Minecraft, a game that I've now technically ryviewed twice. And I still haven't found that damn stronghold, so I don't expect to stop any time soon. I'm also playing Destiny, but soon I'll be ryviewing that as well and I don't think I'll stop after that happens.

I'll play anything if I get to wear a cape [2]

That means that I'll likely be obsessed with 2 games that I've already ryviewed. And in the precious little time I have to spend on gaming lately, I'll want to devote most of my time to those games. So what will I do to manage my stress?

First things first, most of my videos coming soon will likely by "RyPlays" because those don't require scoring and let me free-form a bit more. If you like me non-rehearsed and sounding like a moron, then hold onto your non-existent hats because you'll be in for a poorly enunciated treat. For the rest of you, I don't care what you think, I'm doing it anyway (but I still like anyone who's bothered reading this far. Yes you, because you're probably the only one. Congratulations! Have this. [3]).

Secondly, I'll probably try to have a few more articles about what I'm doing, so I may try to discuss some of the finer points about Destiny and Minecraft. I'm still a little too poor (and/or cheap) to be able to adequately capture footage on my Xbox, so video will come later, but for now I'll be doing the old fashioned print articles for those (just like the one you're reading right now!).

And finally, if I miss a day or two, you'll have to forgive me (if anyone even notices, then you're probably my biggest fan. We should play some Halo together). The important thing is, you're here with me now, and I want to keep you entertained.

Whoops, wrong picture...[4]

I apologize for the lack of content in this article. I'm very tired and stressed. But hey, sometime this week I'm trying to put out a ryview of Destiny, and I'm guessing I'll put out a shiny new video this Friday.

6 months and about 4 dollars later, I'm glad you're still reading my articles. Thanks everybody, it means a lot.

Until next time,

Ryan
